Justin Bieber is one of the latest celebrities to join the Bored Ape Yacht Club. We reported on Eminem joining the club a few weeks ago with a purchase price of almost $500,000, but Justin Bieber’s purchase was for an incredible $1.3 million dollars!
Justin Bieber purchased Bored Ape #3001 for 500 ETH ($1.3 million). This purchase price is around 300% higher than BAYC’s floor price, which is currently 106.9 ETH ($279,162.31). This means that Bieber purchased the NFT for an awful lot more than what it was actually worth.
The BAYC Ape which Bieber purchased is not particularly impressive; with a “New Punk Blue” background, a stubby bored pout with teary eyes, and wearing just a basic black t-shirt with no other attire. Most of the characteristics rank of 5% in rarity, meaning it’s not a particularly rare ape for the price Bieber paid.
Many users commented on Twitter at their shock and surprise to Bieber’s purchase, some even claiming he had been finessed with that sale price:
Justin Bieber really paid 5x the Bored Ape floor price for an ape with no rare traits
He just got finessed ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜

Next time you think you’re down bad, just remember that .@justinbieber just bought a floor ape for 500 ETH.

Justin Bieber spent 400 eth more for a floor ape that HE liked. That’s more bullish than anything else could be.
He’s not looking for the flip he just likes the apes!

However, when it’s all said and done, Justin Bieber has a net worth of over $285 million, so a $1.3 million BAYC purchase for an ape he likes is no big deal to him, and i’m sure the value of his ape (and the others) is going to increase as a result of his purchase.
